Works Done By RUDA |
|
The first Development Plan was sanctioned on
27.4.1988. According to Section 21 of the Act, the Authority is supposed to prepare
its revised Development Plan proposals at least once in 10 years from the date of
sanction of the first D.P. Thus the Authority submitted its revised Development
Plan to the Government, which was sanctioned on 20.2.2004 and it was implemented
w.e.f. 6.3.2004. The percentage of proposed land use pattern as per the revised
D.P. given in Table 1.
Due to rapid development that took place in the three adjoining villages of RUDA
those are in the vicinity of the Rajkot Municipal area limits viz. Nanamava, Mavdi
and Raiya, (having a total area of 35 Sq.Kms.), they were merged into the Rajkot
Municipal Corporation by a notification of the Government issued dt. 17.6.1998.
Thereafter looking to the rapid development of certain villages in the vicinity
of RUDA jurisdiction, Government issued a notification on 20.4.2002 extending the
limits of the RUDA incorporating 18 more villages in its jurisdiction. The extended
area is about 150 Sq.Kms. With these extended limits, the total area of RUDA is
now 633 Sq.Kms. including the area covered under the R.M.C. A list of villages included
in RUDA jurisdiction is attached herewith.
The Authority also prepared its Draft Development Plan for the extended area and
submitted the same for sanction to the Government on 24.12.2004. The land use pattern
for the extended limits as well as for the whole area is given in table 3. These
land use patterns are proposed keeping in mind the projected population of 2011
and other developments in the industrial sector and other fields.
Details of project works undertaken by RUDA are given in the attached sheets.
As a part of its functions, at present RUDA has also undertaken 6 Nos. of Draft
T.P. Schemes till date and all the draft T.P. Schemes are sanctioned by Government.
In the past right from 1978 to 1998 RUDA had prepared 9 T.P. Schemes and all the
schemes were sanctioned by Government. Out of these 9 T.P. Schemes 8 Schemes are
in the fast-developing villages viz. Raiya, Nanamava and Mavdi. As these villages
are now merged in RMC limits, these Schemes are also now with R.M.C. Details of
All other projects carried out by RUDA are shown in Table 2. |
